The fine print
Terms of Service
Last updated: July 16, 2026
1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using Blurt, whether the Mac app, the Windows app, the Blurt browser extension, or justblurt.com, you agree to these terms.
2. License
Blurt is free to download, but using it requires a Blurt account on every client, including the browser extension. The Free plan is subject to usage limits; Premium features require a paid subscription billed monthly. Your license is personal, non-exclusive, and non-transferable; you may not resell or redistribute the app. Your use of the browser extension is also subject to the Chrome Web Store's terms of service.
3. Acceptable use & fair use
Blurt is for normal, individual dictation. "Unlimited" plans cover ordinary human use, not automated, scripted, or bulk input, running multiple people or devices through one account, reselling access, or processing other people’s audio at scale. You may not circumvent or attempt to circumvent word limits, plan restrictions, or account requirements; share, resell, or transfer your account; reverse-engineer, probe, or attack the app or its licensing; or use Blurt to create or distribute unlawful, infringing, harassing, or harmful content. We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate this section or generate usage grossly disproportionate to normal individual use, with or without notice, and paid time lost to such termination is non-refundable.
4. "As is" / no warranty
Blurt is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. Dictation accuracy is not guaranteed; do not rely on it for safety-critical use.
5. AI cleanup & third parties
The optional AI Cleanup feature (Premium) sends dictation text to Anthropic, either through Blurt's hosted cleanup or, on desktop, if you choose, your own Anthropic API key; your use of it is also governed by Anthropic's terms. In the browser extension, AI Cleanup is on by default for Premium accounts and uses only Blurt's hosted cleanup; you can turn it off from the extension popup. You are responsible for any usage and costs on your own key.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the author is not liable for any damages arising from use of the software.
7. Changes
These terms may be updated; continued use means acceptance of the current version.
8. Contact
This is a plain-language template, not legal advice.
